Venice, Arsenale Remondini, 1780, Prospectus magni Armamentarii Navalis Veneti

Rare large 18th century copper engraved optical view of the gate of the famous shipyards (Arsenale) in Venice in original colors. Title in Latin and French. Most likely published by the famous Remondini family in Venice, around 1780.

Remondini's views fully represent the popular Italian printing style: simple in line, almost always colored with a few shades in a quick and decisive way, they fascinate by their directness and have been the subject of numerous exhibitions, collections and studies in recent years.

Good. Some minimal repairs in the corners and outer margins. Some light brown stains. Otherwise excellent. Ample margins. Never folded. Original coloring.
