Interesting 18th century copper engraved bird's-eye plan of the city of Thoothukudi (formerly known as Tuticorin), in Tamil Nadu, India. The plan shows the city with his buildings, streets, harbor, plantations and surrounding landscape.
It was originally published in 1672 in Philip Baldeus's A true and exact description of the most celebrated East India coast of Malabar and Coromandel, and of the island of Ceylon, with all the adjacent countries. This is from the 1732 edition of ´A collection of voyages and travels,...´ by Awnsham & John Churchill.
